Onion Soup in Cluj

Had there been a punishment for not posting on a regular basis, I would have had years of charges collected by now.  Went to Cluj for 5 days and I had the most incredible holiday ever. But that was thanks to a dear friend who's equally interested in food, beautiful places, great people, cool pubs and coffee/tea places and well, I guess in enjoying life.

And that's why I now like to call him a twin soul or just a twin. We can go crazy about a cake. Like insane people, you haven't seen that before. It's just been so great and I have a gazillion photos but no idea when to post them all.

In other news, been busy with some great projects, still working on them, enjoying great friends' company and feeling lucky to be surrounded by such talented and extraordinary people.

What to do on 12th of May: Orasu'n Bucate

Mic dejun de Bucureşti is one of the media partners of this delicious event which will take place on 12th of May in Bucharest. Where there is food involved, how can we miss that? So let's make a note for that weekend and see you all there!

"Cum Bucurestiului ii lipseau sarea si piperul de la targurile culinare, pe 12 mai va asteptam la cea de-a doua editie a festivalului Orasu'n Bucate, organizat de Metropotam, in parteneriat cu Reader's Cafe - un festival de mancare buna, o adevarata delicatesa pentru papilele gustative ale curiosilor. Cea de-a doua editie a festivalului Orasu’n Bucate va avea loc in data de 12 mai 2012, incepand cu ora 09.30, in fata Centrului Metropolis (Grigore Alexandrescu 89-97, aproape de Stefan cel Mare si Piata Victoriei) intr-o sambata in care fie ploaie, fie soare, sunteti asteptati cu delicii de tot felul. Evenimentul va avea loc in corturi special amenajate, unde vor fi prezente cele mai tari restaurante pe specificuri.

As you can very well see...

I have been posting once a week? Well, that's a perfect example of what not to do to your blog. I have been eating every morning, but the same amount of yogurt with the same type of cereals. So it's definitely redundant to post a photo with my breakfast now.

The fair approaching and people getting more and more excited about it, the work just piled up. I have been so glad to see how big the enthousiasm was. I am convinced this second edition will be amazing. Everything just fits into place and things are easily done when you work with the right persons. When someone saves the day with a great event poster, the other one comes up with the list and the PR successfully spreads the news, things can only be perfect.

Meanwhile, the every day job came with its own rewards which basically were opportunities to learn more things although this involves more work. Nothing one cannot survive, nevertheless.

I'm now struggling with a cold after 9 days of new treatment of antibiotics which apparently were not enough. I mean, aren't these supposed to make your body virus proof? I guess not. I am waiting for spring because this just seemed the longest winter ever. I do remember warm 18 degrees days in March. Now I just wonder were are those.

We'll also be having raw goodies at the fair and I'm extremely excited about those and eager to find out tricks and recipes.

Mic dejun de Bucuresti Food Fair (Editia I)

 So first edition of Mic dejun de Bucuresti Food Fair took place yesterday and it turned out to be a pretty good event. Five rooms, filled with the sweet perfume of muffins, tarts, pancakes, pies and all sorts of cookies and cakes. Talented participants and great people who came and tasted a delicious breakfast. We can't wait to organize a second edition, but first, let's enjoy some of the photos from yesterday.

Pe 1 octombrie luăm micul dejun împreună în Home Mătăsari

Cum arată o dimineaţă obişnuită pentru tine? Pentru noi, începe întotdeauna cu un mic dejun delicios. Brioşe, o cafea fierbinte, un bol de cereale sau un munte de clătite, toate acestea ar trebui să definească începutul zilei pentru  fiecare dintre noi.

Pe 1 octombrie, ne trezim de dimineaţă şi-ţi pregătim cel mai bun mic dejun din lume. Blogurile culinare care te ademenesc în fiecare zi cu cele mai savuroase fotografii trec acum din online in… Home Mătăsari.

Bucătarul nu se dezbracă de secrete de data aceasta, ci de reţetele pentru ciorbe, sosuri şi fripturi. Îi provocăm la pregătirea unui… mic dejun de Bucureşti.  Te trezim pe la 9, chiar dacă e sâmbătă. Dar asta numai ca sa ajungi sa iei micul dejun la ora 10 împreună cu noi.
